Privacy Policy
Halden Press is operated by Stream Brio LLC. This page says what we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. It is written to be read.

The waiting list, and your account
If you join the waiting list, we collect your email address and a note of which page you signed up from. Nothing else. We use it to write to you when there is room, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
If you become a member, we hold your email address and the name you give us. You sign in with a link we email you. We never create, ask for, or store a password.
During onboarding we ask a few questions about your work: what you make, what you believe people come to you for, what you are building toward, and the address of your channel. Your answers are stored in your own words, because your chapters are written against them.
Your channel, through YouTube API Services
Halden Pressuses YouTube API Services. When you give us your channel address, we use the YouTube Data API to read public information about your channel: your channel profile and statistics, the titles, descriptions, durations, view counts, and thumbnails of your public videos, and public comments on those videos, including each commenter’s public display name, public channel ID, like counts, and dates.
We read only what is already public. We do not access private videos, private analytics, or anyone’s Google account, and we never download your video or audio files, or anyone else’s.
By using Halden Press you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We keep short-lived cached copies of this data so we are not asking YouTube for the same thing twice; cached copies expire within 24 hours. Stored YouTube API data is refreshed or deleted within 30 days. The chapters and analyses we write from it are our own work product and are kept for you as part of your account.
Halden Press does not request authorization to your Google account. If we ever add features that do, you would grant that access explicitly and could revoke it at any time from your Google security settings. A note to commenters: comments we read are public, and we use them only to write chapters for the creator whose videos they appear on. If you wrote a comment and want it excluded from this processing, email us and we will exclude it.
Public mentions of your work
Part of the reading is looking for the traces your work leaves where you never look: articles, forum threads, newsletters, podcast mentions. We run web searches about your work through a search provider (currently Brave Search) and fetch only publicly available pages. Our fetcher honors robots.txt and rate limits itself. We store the relevant excerpts, with their sources, for a limited time so your chapters can cite them.
How the AI processing works
We use large language models, currently via Anthropic’s Claude API, to read the evidence and draft your chapters: classifying comments, finding patterns, composing prose. The data described on this page is sent to our AI provider only to perform that work. Under our provider’s API terms, it is not used to train their models.
One rule from the product applies here too: nothing is invented. Analyses are generated from your actual evidence, and internal working analyses stay internal.
How your data is used
We use the data described above to write your chapters, to run and improve the service, and to keep our own costs and usage honest (we log our API usage and spend internally). That is the whole list.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not run advertising and we do not use advertising trackers. We do not share one creator’s data or chapters with another creator. Your audience’s words are used to write your chapters, and for nothing else.
Service providers
A small set of providers help us run Halden Press, and each sees only what its job requires: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (AI processing), Google and YouTube (channel data, as described above), Brave (web search), and Resend (the emails that sign you in). If we add email campaigns for the waiting list or paid subscriptions, a mail provider such as Mailchimp and a payment provider such as Stripe would join this list, and this page will say so before they do.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our members or the service.
Only the necessary ones
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics trackers on this site.
Retention, and your rights
We keep your account data while your account is active. Email hello@streambrio.com and we will delete your account and its data, take you off the waiting list, send you a copy of the data we hold about you, or correct anything that is wrong. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA give you formal versions of these rights; we honor the requests either way. We may retain minimal records where the law requires it.
Halden Press is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If this page changes
If our practices change, this page changes first, with a new effective date at the top, and members are told by email when the change is material. Questions, requests, or anything this page did not answer: hello@streambrio.com. Halden Press is operated by Stream Brio LLC.
